About data_UMR

Data_UMR is an Open Access Repository for texts and data from all faculties at Philipps University, Marburg. All publications are stored with descriptive metadata for at least 10 years. Furthermore, a DOI can be registered for any publication to make it uniquely identifiable, globally. Additionally, submitters can easily define access rights and licence models associated with their data.

Data_UMR is operated by 'Servicecenter eResearch', a joint venture of the university's library (UB) and the university's computing center (HRZ).

The software powering the repository is 'DSpace', one of the most ubiquitous repository softwares in the world. It is developed by a large international community. UB and HRZ customized the source code for usage requirements at Phillips University, Marburg. Customization and development are discussed, improved and re-used within the Hessian Research Data Infrastructure project (HeFDI).

The metadata registries implemented in the repository are guided by the recommendations from DataCite and DINI (Deutsche Initiative für Netzwerkinformation e.V.).
